Fish with Transparent Head

Okey .. amazing .. fascinating and cool ! that’s all i can say to describe this weird and unique fish ..
Micropina microstoma .. better known as the ‘barreleye’ fish .. Barreleye fish have transparent head with large internal eye that can look upward .. this fish live about 600 or 800 meter depths in the sea .. the fish search for prey using its ultra-sensitive eyes ..
This fish was first described in 1939 .. however only recent researchers found out that the eye of the fish was not fixed in place .. this allows the Barreleye fish to peer up at potential prey or look forward when the fish is feeding .. there are two spots above the fish’s mouth which is its olfactory organ .. this organ are analogous to human nostrils ..
Besides their amazing head and eyes,, this barreleye fish also have other interesting adaptations to deep -sea life .. their large flat fins allows them to remain nearly motionless in the water .. this also allows the fish to move very precisely in the water ..
This fish share their deep-sea environment with jellyfish .. the most common jellyfish grows about 10 meters and trails hundreds of stinging  tentacles ..  based on scientist studies,, the barreleye fish survived in that environment with the help of their special rotating eyes that allows them to move carefully among those tentacles .. while their translucent head protect the eye of the fish so that the stinging jellyfish tentacles won’t hurt it ..
